The holidays are fast approaching and perhaps you are looking to find some personal gifts for your loved ones.. well, might I suggest a customized painting by yours truly?

Many currently recognize me for other talents mostly involving fashion and hip hop, but my first love is with art. Pencil and paper was my thing as a kid, toys were secondary. I feel that I still apply my eye for aesthetics in other areas of my life, but my actual art skill is definitely cryptic to most.

Below are some examples of 20×30 canvas work with acrylic paint. The KRS1 piece was a custom job for a client, sold for $300. The following piece is titled, “Head in the Clouds, Feet on the Ground, Back to the Wall” – painting still available for $300.

For inquiries, contact me at risism.com@gmail.com ..prices vary with size and work.

P.S. Sintex is also another great artist to contact for custom paintings ;)

Camilo Pardo is a few things: an automotive industry industrial designer, a fashion designer, & well, let’s just say an all around artist. Camilo & 1xRUN present limited edition prints with the artwork entitled, “Her Targets.” In a variety of colorways, there are only 45 pieces available, & are already going.. “This series is limited to 45 signed and numbered color specific individual works of art. An exclusively commissioned work for 1xRUN.” See more about it HERE.

IRON STREET FAIR

December 9, 2010

Iron Street Fair, held during the late summer in a crevice of Detroit. It was one of the last fresh summer days of Detroit left. The sun was soothing, but as soon as shade or shadow hit, chills filled, though they seemed prepared with heating lamps set up in the center of the fair. Iron Street almost felt like a wide alley with doors that led to galleries & abandoned buildings. The lone street was filled with artwork, from corner to corner of one side of the block, along with tents & booths, as well as a sound system for live entertainment.

Captured here are snapshots of the art displayed & voted on for a small art competition. Some competitors included Detroit artists, Sintex, Iges, & Riku. There are also photos of one of Detroit’s darlings, Espy, fully taking advantage of the day on her bike, partaking on fair festivities like face painting & all that fun fair stuff. There was much to bask in at Iron Street Fair, from art inside, to art outside, to art to wear (clothing, purses, fragrances), to art to share (pieces for sale).

A sketch preview from the Romás by Linda Rowe Thomas SS/2011 collection to be shown at New York Fashion Week.

“I’ve always been inspired by the way Jackie Kennedy Onassis brought style and glamour to everything she wore. I strive to capture that same style and sophistication in each collection,” said Thomas who coined her Romás label as a “one-of-a-kind and ready-to-wear collection” with a classic, yet contemporary, flare.
